Gorgeous Medoc

The Medoc region is known for its remarkably fine and complex wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as for its magnificent castles.

On this tour, you will discover prestigious appellations of the Medoc – Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Haut-Medoc, or Saint-Estephe and visit some of the top wineries classified in 1855.

Other interesting options in the Medoc include a visit to a barrel-maker or a chocolate-maker.

Private Tour

This is your tour.I will create an itinerary just for your group. Simply let me know the style of wines you like, or maybe your favourite chateaux, the type of activities you enjoy and your dining preferences. I will do my best to check all boxes. Alternatively, just relax and let me suggest the best plan.

Hotel Pickup & Drop-off

Your driver-guide will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel or apartment in Bordeaux. A pick up at the port of Bordeaux, Bordeaux train station or another location is possible too.

Famous Castles and Classic Blends

You will visit or stop by the most famous classified growth wineries with their grand castles. Have you heard the story of the 1855 Classification of Medoc? I advise to visit several different appellations of the Medoc so that you can experience various styles of wines from light and elegant Margaux to bold and structured Pauillac.

What to Expect During Winery Visits

Each winery tour lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. Typically, it includes a guided stroll through vineyard, a tour of the cellars followed by a tasting of 2-3 wines.

Winery visits can be private or public. Private tours give you more attention of the guide or owner and more time to ask questions. As well, you can be flexible with various tasting options, such as include famous vintages, or wine and food pairing in your tasting.

Please note that winery visits and tastings are own expense and are paid per person directly to the chateaux. Typical winery fees are 15 to 60 euros per person per chateau. Private tours can be slightly more expensive. Please let me know if you prefer private visits or want to upgrade your tasting.

Most wineries sell wines at their boutiques and many would ship wines to your country. We could also make a stop at a local wine shop. Read more in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
