What to Expect During Winery Visits
Each winery tour lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. Typically, it includes a guided stroll through vineyard, a tour of the cellars followed by a tasting of 2-3 wines.
Winery visits can be private or public. Private tours give you more attention of the guide or owner and more time to ask questions. As well, you can be flexible with various tasting options, such as include famous vintages, or wine and food pairing in your tasting.
Please note that winery visits and tastings are own expense and are paid per person directly to the chateaux. Typical winery fees are 12 to 45 euros per person per chateau. Private tours can be slightly more expensive. Please let me know if you prefer private visits or want to upgrade your tasting.
Most wineries sell wines at their boutiques and many would ship wines to your country for a fee. Read more in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Full-day Tour Itinerary
Leave Bordeaux at 9 am and return around 5-30 pm. This is a sample itinerary. Your unique program with the time schedule and the chateaux to visit will be provided to you in advance of your tour.
