Closest to the city of Bordeaux, this wine-making region is a cradle of Bordeaux wine fame and a truly unique terroir with excellent reds as well as whites.
This area is home to both Grand Cru Classé estates and boutique family-run properties. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc thrive on the region’s gravelly soils, giving rise to elegant, complex wines with remarkable balance and depth.
During your private tour, you’ll visit a hand-picked selection of prestigious châteaux, explore their vineyards and barrel cellars, and learn about the appellation’s rich winemaking heritage.
About Pessac-Léognan
The Pessac-Léognan appellation forms the northern part of the Graves region on the Left Bank and is renowned for producing some of the most refined wines in Bordeaux. Just a short drive from the city center, it offers a unique blend of rural tranquility and urban accessibility, with stately châteaux set among forests and gravel slopes. The area is also home to Château Haut-Brion, one of Bordeaux’s five First Growths.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are winery tasting fees included?
Yes, we include classic tastings at two excellent wineries.
We can upgrade your tasting experiences and/or add a third winery.
Whi
We will be delighted to organize and pre-book your preferred winery visits, provided the estates are open to the public and have availability on your travel dates.
Please note that while many Bordeaux châteaux welcome visitors, some prestigious estates — such as Château Cheval Bland, Petrus and a few others — remain closed to the public. We cannot guarantee that your specific preferred wineries will be open or available, but we will always secure similar or next best options.
Availability inquiries and reservations at the châteaux are made only after your private wine tour has been confirmed with us.
Is lunch included?
No. We will schedule time for you to enjoy lunch during the tour. We’ll be happy to reserve a table at a local restaurant or brasserie or arrange an exclusive winery lunch with pairing. There are several Michelin-star restaurants in and around the village of Saint-Émilion.
Can I buy wine on a tour?
Yes. Most châteaux offer select (usually recent) vintages in their boutiques. You can buy and ship wine to your home.
Wine shops in Saint-Émilion have a good selection of Bordeaux wines.
Can I bring children on a tour?
Of course, children are welcome to join private tours when accompanied and supervised by an adult. Most wineries do not charge visit fees for children, but please make sure to mention their ages when booking your tour.
You can also request child-friendly experiences — some Bordeaux châteaux offer special activities designed for families.
Please note that wine tasting and alcohol consumption are strictly limited to guests of legal drinking age in their country of origin.
